Fuego vs Speak: A Daily Plan or a Spoken Course?

Choose Speak if you want a course built around learning phrases, saying them aloud and applying them in conversation. Choose Fuego if you want an AI tutor alongside a daily plan of vocabulary and comprehension activities. Check your target language first: Speak’s published list for English speakers differs from Fuego’s seven languages. Both use AI, so treat corrections as learning help rather than an official assessment.

What is this comparison based on?

Fuego is our app. We checked the linked official product pages and US App Store listings on October 23, 2026, and checked Fuego against its product specification. This is a comparison of documented features, not a hands-on test of every competitor or a measured study of learning outcomes. Recommendations below are our judgment about which workflow fits each learner.

Prices are snapshots in US dollars where a public plan is identifiable. A store listing can contain several offers, including older ones; it does not promise that every account can buy each offer. Check the billing period and renewal total at checkout. We do not publish a fixed Fuego price because its store sets the local offer.

Do you want the phrase taught before you use it?

Speak’s published method begins with a lesson, moves into repeating and practicing the material, then asks you to apply it in conversation. That sequence is a good reason to consider it if an open question makes you freeze: you have just practiced the words you are expected to say.

Fuego’s tutor chooses the topic and adapts as you answer. Reply suggestions and translation can help when you get stuck. Its daily plan also includes listening, flashcards and word packs, with reading from A2. Choose it if you want your conversation practice to sit beside those activities rather than make every session follow a spoken lesson.

What does Speak Premium Plus add?

Speak’s plan comparison places the curriculum and situational roleplay in both paid tiers. Plus increases access to personalized tools and adds a personalized study plan. Its pronunciation coach has a language restriction: the help page says it is available for learning English. Do not assume every advertised tool works identically in every course.

A useful buying question is whether you will use the extra personalization. If your routine is one course lesson a day, begin by checking what Premium already covers. If you want several custom lessons, inspect the limits in the current offer. The higher price only makes sense when its added access changes what you will actually do.

Does your target language decide the choice?

Fuego teaches English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Polish. Speak’s public English-speaker list includes several Asian languages that Fuego does not offer. For Japanese, Korean or Chinese, Fuego is not an alternative. For Polish, Fuego is available and Speak does not list a target course for English speakers.

Do not read the App Store’s “Languages” field as a course catalog. That field describes the app interface. A Polish interface can serve someone studying English; it does not establish that the app teaches Polish. Check the target-language picker or the company’s course list before comparing subscription costs.

How should you evaluate the two routines?

Try a beginner lesson when your energy is low and a conversation when you have more time. In Speak, notice whether repeating the lesson phrases helps you answer the next question. In Fuego, notice whether the reply suggestions let you continue without simply copying every answer. Neither observation proves long-term results, but both tell you something about your immediate fit.

On the next day, review one correction before starting again. Fuego’s word bank has a picture, sentence and audio for every word, and you can save conversation vocabulary to cards. If you mainly need a predictable sequence of spoken lessons, Speak’s course remains a strong reason to choose it. If you need broader daily practice in a Fuego language, see how Fuego works.

Frequently asked questions

Does Speak teach Polish?

Its current public target-language list for English speakers does not include Polish. Do not confuse its interface languages with the languages it teaches. Fuego offers Polish.

Can Fuego replace a Speak course?

It can provide AI conversation and a daily mix of learning activities in its seven languages. It does not reproduce Speak’s lesson sequence, and it does not teach Japanese, Korean or Chinese.
