Your private Portuguese tutor, by voice or by text. Learn Portuguese by actually speaking it.

Portuguese sounds soft until you try the vowels yourself. Talk to me in whatever you have. I answer, keep it going, and fix what matters.

A first chat

YouEu estou morando no Rio desde dois anos.

FuegoQue legal! Já se acostumou com o calor? Qual é o seu bairro favorito?

Better: Eu moro no Rio há dois anos.

For time that runs up to now, Portuguese uses há: há dois anos.

The parts of Portuguese I help with most

  1. The nasal sounds

Pão, mãe, não. Replay my voice slowly until your mouth finds them.

  2. How people really talk

Tá, pra, a gente. Textbooks skip them, Brazilians use them all day. I use them too, and explain when you ask.

  3. Ser and estar again

If you know Spanish, it is familiar and slightly different, which is worse. I catch the slips.

Start with the words

  1. 1 sim yes
  2. 2 não no
  3. 3 olá hello
  4. 4 tchau goodbye
  5. 5 por favor please
  6. 6 obrigado thank you
  7. 7 desculpe sorry
  8. 8 com licença excuse me

How lessons go

  1. We talk.

Hold to speak, or type. Rough is fine.

  2. I review.

After each chat you get a short recap: what went well, the words worth keeping, and the corrections.

  3. You practice.

Your mistakes and new words come back as flashcards, listening and reading.

Questions

Can I start Portuguese from zero?

Yes. Tell me you are new and I start with short, simple sentences and explain in your language. As you grow, I switch to Portuguese a little more each week.

Do I have to speak out loud?

No. Hold the button and speak when you feel like it, or type. It is the same tutor with the same corrections either way.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and start talking. There is nothing to sign up for.
