Terms of service
Last updated 3 August 2026.
These terms cover the Fuego mobile app and this website. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, do not use Fuego.
1. Who can use Fuego
You must be at least 13, and at least the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher. If you are under 18, an adult responsible for you has to agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You sign in through Firebase Authentication using an identity you already own, so we never hold your password. Keep control of that identity. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One account per person. Do not share logins.
3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
Fuego sells subscriptions through the App Store and Google Play. Every payment, renewal, and refund runs through them.
- The price, the billing period, and the trial length are shown in the app before you confirm. Those figures govern, not anything written elsewhere.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancel in your phone's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running until the period you paid for expires.
- A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Starting a trial on one platform does not give you a second trial on the other.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. We cannot issue one. Your statutory right to withdraw or cancel under the consumer law where you live is unaffected.
We can change prices. A change applies from your next billing period, and you will see it before it takes effect so you can cancel first.
4. Voice minutes and fair use
Real-time voice costs us money per minute, so plans include a monthly allowance of voice minutes rather than unlimited use. The app shows your remaining balance. Text chat and written exercises are not metered.
Automating, scripting, or reselling access defeats the point and is not allowed. We can suspend an account that does it.
5. What an AI tutor can and cannot do
Fuego makes mistakes. It is built on language models. It can state a grammar rule that is wrong, invent a word, or mistranslate. Check anything that matters.
Fuego teaches languages. It is not a source of medical, legal, financial, or immigration advice, and you must not treat it as one, even when it answers confidently. It does not replace a certified exam, and passing time with it does not certify your level to anyone.
Tell us when it gets something wrong. The support page explains how.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Fuego to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it
- harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, including through what you type to the tutor
- generate sexual content involving minors, or content that promotes violence or hate
- extract our prompts, probe the underlying models, or work around usage limits
- upload malware, or attack our servers or our providers
- copy the app, decompile it, or resell any part of it
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where the breach is minor and fixable, we will say what is wrong first.
7. Your content and ours
What you write and say in Fuego stays yours. You give us the licence we need to run the service with it: storing it, sending it to the model providers listed in the privacy policy, and generating lessons from it. That licence exists only to operate Fuego for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not train our own models on your conversations.
The app, the site, the name, and the lesson material we author are ours. Lessons and exercises generated for you are yours to use for learning.
8. Availability
We do not promise Fuego will be available without interruption. It depends on services we do not control, including Apple, Google, and our model providers. We will not deliberately break a feature you paid for without telling you.
Features change. We may add, alter, or withdraw them. If we withdraw something central to why you subscribed, cancel and Apple or Google will handle the remainder.
9. Ending it
You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription in your store, and delete your account by the steps on the deletion page. We can close an account that breaks section 6, or if we shut Fuego down. In that case we will give notice and stop charging you.
10. Liability
Fuego is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything you did because the tutor told you something incorrect. Where we are liable, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud, and nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top. For a change that reduces your rights or raises your costs, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Carrying on using Fuego after that means you accept it.
