Your private English tutor, by voice or by text. Speak English without rehearsing it first.

You probably read more English than you speak. Let's fix that. Talk to me about work, life, anything. I answer and fix the bits that give you away.

A first chat

YouI am living in Chicago since three years.

FuegoThree years! So you've survived a few Chicago winters. What do you like most about the city?

Better: I have been living in Chicago for three years.

Something that started in the past and is still true takes have been, and a length of time takes for.

The parts of English I help with most

  1. Phrasal verbs

Look up, look after, look into. Natives use them constantly. I use them too, and explain the ones that stop you.

  2. Since, for and have been

The present perfect has no twin in most languages. I fix it in your sentences until it sounds normal to you.

  3. Spelling that lies

Though, through, tough. Hear how I say it, replay it slowly, say it back.

Start with the words

  1. 1 yes
  2. 2 no
  3. 3 hello
  4. 4 goodbye
  5. 5 please
  6. 6 thank you
  7. 7 sorry
  8. 8 excuse me

How lessons go

  1. We talk.

Hold to speak, or type. Rough is fine.

  2. I review.

After each chat you get a short recap: what went well, the words worth keeping, and the corrections.

  3. You practice.

Your mistakes and new words come back as flashcards, listening and reading.

How it works

Questions

Is it only for beginners?

No. Many people come to me with good grammar and too little practice speaking. Tell me your level and I talk to you at it, then push a little.

Do I have to speak out loud?

No. Hold the button and speak when you feel like it, or type. It is the same tutor with the same corrections either way.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and start talking. There is nothing to sign up for.
