Best App to Learn Polish: Choose by Your Study Goal

The best app to learn Polish depends on the task: Duolingo for a free course, Babbel for explained grammar, and Fuego for AI conversation alongside daily vocabulary and comprehension practice. Langua and Pingo also support Polish. No app here guarantees that you will handle real conversations or pass a Polish exam; combine practice with feedback you can verify and contact with real speakers.

How did we choose these options?

Fuego is our app. We compared documented learning workflows and public purchase information on October 23, 2026. We did not run a controlled learning study or test every app on a paid account. The order groups options by use case; it is not a ranking of measured effectiveness.

Our criteria are target-language availability, how you practice producing an answer, what you can review afterward, and what the subscription buys. Official sources are linked below and in the table. Store prices are US snapshots where the plan can be identified. A different country, web checkout or promotion may show a different offer.

1. Duolingo : starting a free course

Course

Duolingo has a Polish course for English speakers. It is a useful starting point if you need a sequence and want to begin without paying. Do not assume that every feature in a larger Duolingo course is also present in Polish.

A useful habit is to say your answer before touching the word tiles. Recognizing a sentence on screen and producing one without prompts are different tasks; add opportunities to do both.

Best for: A beginner who wants a free course to open daily.

Consider: Check Polish-specific features; course access does not imply every AI tool.

2. Babbel : understanding grammar as you practice

Course

Babbel’s Polish page describes grammar tips, pronunciation exercises and cultural material. Its help center lists Polish through A2. That makes it a relevant choice for a beginner who wants the reason behind an ending explained in a course.

A2 coverage is a boundary, not a promise that completing the course certifies your level. For professional work, university admission or a language exam, check the requirements and get a suitable teacher or preparation resource.

Best for: Learners who want explanations with a lesson sequence.

Consider: Polish coverage is narrower than some of its larger courses.

3. Fuego : speaking and reviewing in a daily routine

AI tutor

Fuego’s Polish tutor responds by voice or text and adapts to your level. You can save vocabulary to flashcards, and the Polish word bank contains 1,000 core words with audio, pictures and examples. Listening and, from A2, reading sit in the daily plan.

It has no dedicated Polish exam-preparation course or scenario picker. The first tutor conversation is free; continued tutor conversation requires Pro. Other daily learning activities remain free.

Best for: Turning vocabulary into answers and reviewing it afterward.

Consider: Needs a connection; push-to-talk voice and no browser tutor.

4. Langua : conversation from a browser or mobile app

AI tutor

Langua’s official list includes Polish. Its browser access and mobile apps make it worth considering when you want to study on a computer as well as a phone.

Check the speaking allowance for the plan you are considering. A plan with daily limits and an unlimited offer should not be compared only by the smaller advertised monthly number.

Best for: Learners who want flexible device access for AI practice.

Consider: AI conversation does not replace a Polish teacher’s assessment.

5. Pingo AI : trying another Polish conversation workflow

AI tutor

Pingo has an official Polish page. It is a valid option to evaluate alongside Fuego, rather than a competitor to dismiss as lacking Polish.

Its public US purchase names do not identify every billing period. Confirm the subscription inside the app and try a conversation before interpreting a store price as the cost of a month or year.

Best for: Learners choosing between conversational interfaces.

Consider: We have not independently tested its Polish feedback quality.

What should a Polish app help you practice?

An English meaning alone cannot show you how a Polish word behaves in a sentence. When an ending changes, keep the complete phrase and its context. Ask for an explanation you can understand, then try a second sentence using the same pattern. If the explanation is unclear or contradictory, check it with a reliable grammar reference or a teacher.

Use audio before reading a difficult word, then repeat and compare it. Speech recognition can misunderstand an answer; a transcript is not an exact diagnosis of your pronunciation. Avoid judging an entire app from a single missed word, and avoid treating a recognized word as proof that your pronunciation needs no work.

How can you combine a course and conversation?

Start with a short course lesson or a small group of useful words. Say an original sentence before looking at an example. Then try a conversation on the same subject and keep one correction for the next day. This connects recognition, recall and use without asking you to run several full courses at once.

Our free Polish word list provides audio and examples, and the Polish level test offers a rough starting estimate. The test is a website resource, not an in-app placement assessment or a certificate. If you already have a course you like, add conversation rather than restarting from the first lesson in five different apps.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fuego the only AI app that teaches Polish?

No. Langua, Pingo, Talkpal and Praktika also list Polish in their current official resources. This page compares study workflows instead of claiming exclusive availability.

Is there a free app to learn Polish?

Duolingo offers its Polish course free. Fuego’s word packs and daily learning activities stay free, while continued conversation with the tutor requires Pro after the free introduction.

Which app prepares me for a Polish certificate exam?

This comparison does not verify a dedicated exam-preparation program in these apps. Fuego has no exam-preparation course. Use an exam-specific resource or a qualified teacher for that goal.
